The most irritating characteristic of politicians is there inability to answer a yes or no question.  That goes for everyone from every side of the aisle.  There was no exception to this calamity last night as Senator Tammy Baldwin, a Democrat from Wisconsin, appeared on CNN with host Brooke Baldwin.  They were discussing the current immigration policy of the United States and the family situation that is occurring at the border.  I want to go ahead and give some respect to Brooke Baldwin for her line of questioning.  It is of no surprise that CNN is left leaning, but Baldwin did not take this into consideration while questioning the Senator.

Brooke Baldwin asked, “As so many people in this country are certainly outraged by the cages and the thermal blankets and the facilities housing these kids, you know, they were all there in 2014 under President Obama, and my question to you Senator Baldwin is did you speak up against them then?”   Wow!  That is a power house of a question.  Now some might say that this was staged and though it was a tough question that the Senator would have already have it arranged to deliver a great answer.  The fact is though that she didn’t.  The answer was circular and made absolutely no sense.  She replied, “You know, on the, on this issue, that we get into a moment where we’re making progress and then when it stalls, we turn around, I think we all need to continue to be focused on it and press it through.”

What!?  I had to read that a few times to try and make sense of it and I still have not made heads or tails of it.  It reminds me of Miss Teen South Carolina and her map question back in 2017, but this would be labeled as worse for sure.  “The American people need confidence that we can solve problems,” she continued. “Nobody believes that we have an immigration system that works. It is broken, it needs fixing, but we’ve just got to resolve to do that.”  The host asked the question again and the response was still not worthy of the ears of all Americans and the Senator kept speaking of something else to avoid the topic.

What we can draw from this is that there is hypocrisy in Washington and both parties are to be held accountable for it.  It also shows that the Democrats may be speaking out against Trump to gain political favor in the eyes of America.  The Republicans are being painted in a bad light, but there is blame to be passed on all sides.  It is comparable to my two kids making a mess in their room and then one of them rat the other one out in a display of innocence.  The speaking in circles is but a demonstration of the hypocrisy and the inability to spout truth.  If there was truth and she was not guilty then she could have spoken freely without problem.

Politicians are slimy at times and show their octopus like ability to wiggle out of situations and far too often they are not held accountable for their actions or their words.  They not only speak in circles, but work in circles.  I have written much on the subject, but there is a divide in Washington and there are those that tend to their own circles and therefore there will be no real progress because there is not much willingness to work with others.  Honestly it is a scene of a bunch of children running around without proper parental guidance and the country suffers for it.  Once again I congratulate Brooke Baldwin for the tough line of questioning and if every network acted like this with no political bias then America as a society would be fair so much better.
